9 in 10 Seniors Satisfied with their Medicare Supplements
According to a study by America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), 9 out of 10 seniors are satisfied with their Medicare Supplement insurance. These seniors believe that their Medicare Supplement insurance is simple, reliable, and offers good value for their money, according to the study, which was released in early October.
Here’s how the Medicare Supplement feedback breaks down, according to the AHIP study:
– 88 percent of seniors with Medicare Supplement insurance are “satisfied” with their coverage.
– 62 percent of seniors with Medicare Supplement insurance are “very satisfied” with their coverage.
– 77 percent of participants feel that their Medicare Supplement insurance provides them with excellent or good value for their money.
– 87 percent of individuals with Medicare Supplement insurance would recommend them to a friend or a relative.
What are Medicare Supplement Plans?
Many Medicare subscribers are still unaware of the many positive benefits they can receive from enrolling in Medicare Supplemental insurance program. Medicare pays for healthcare coverage for more than 40 million Americans. With increasing healthcare costs every year, the Medicare program is constantly looking for ways to save money while continuing to provide basic healthcare coverage.
In order to help save money, there are many coverage gaps in the Medicare program. When there is a coverage gap for a healthcare service, individuals will have to pay for the cost of that healthcare service out-of-pocket.
Medicare Supplement plans, which are also known as Medigap plans, help to cover the cost of Medicare gaps so that Medicare subscribers who have Supplement plans can continue to receive healthcare coverage for all of their healthcare needs – even when those needs are not covered by Original Medicare.
Because of recent changes to the Medicare system, Medicare subscribers should reevaluate their Medicare plans for the upcoming year. One way to do that is to run a Medicare Supplement quote to compare plans. If you wish to make changes to your Medicare plans, including the addition of a Medicare Supplement plan, you can make these changes during the Open Enrollment period from November 15 to December 31, 2009.
