Why Aren’t You Taking Advantage of Your Member Benefits?

Imagine that I told you there was a $20 bill sitting under your living room sofa. Would you roll your eyes and call me crazy? Or would you take a few moments to have a peek?

As a member of the MediGap Advisors family, you have access to an impressive list of money-saving benefits. But surprisingly, a relatively small number of our members take full advantage of these low-hanging savings.

Seeing how we’re always looking for ways to save our people money, I thought I’d issue a friendly reminder. Here’s a look at some of the benefits that are available to you today.

Prescription Drug Discounts

While many of our members are already enrolled in a Part D prescription plan, not everyone is. Even if you do have Part D, there may be times when you will be forced to pay out of pocket. Our Prescription Discount Card is widely accepted and can unlock significant discounts, often even matching online pricing.

In fact, our Prescription Discount Card can even make some out-of-pocket prescriptions cheaper than the same prescription purchased through a Part D copay. The real key to saving money on prescription drugs is knowing the discounts that are available to you. No matter what kind of medicine you need, there is a good chance we can help make it cheaper.

Discounted Lab Fees & Imaging Procedures

For the most part, lab fees and imaging procedures are going to be covered by your Medicare plan. But there are a growing number of people who are taking their health into their own hands. Testing for cholesterol, triglycerides, or even growth hormone can be expensive if not ordered by a doctor.

The same is true of blood work, CAT scans, MRIs, and CT scans. If the procedure or test is not covered by Medicare, MGA clients can get access to discounts of up to 80% in some cases. In addition, many of these discounts are available to family members as well. This means your family can take advantage of the savings, even if that family member is not covered.

Free Fitness Programs and Digital Workout Videos

We seemed to have stumbled into an age where exercise, self-care, and health monitoring are more important than ever. Depending on which Medicare Supplement or Medicare Advantage plan you have, you are eligible for some exclusive fitness programs.

Some of these programs offer discounted gym memberships and free on-site fitness classes. Others are more geared toward at-home participation in free online fitness classes and workout videos. In either case, having free access to health-boosters like these can help keep your health costs down.

Legacy Estate Planning

The Legacy Safeguard Program is available to all of our members, free of charge. This one-of-a-kind planning software guides users through the legacy process, offering help with death certificates, obituaries, living wills, and more.

Tools like the Funeral Home Locator and Final Expense Estimator can save countless hours of research. Your membership in Legacy Safeguard also includes discounts on flowers, gift baskets, estate documents, and Family Legacy DVDs.

Bill Negotiation Service

The worst time to deal with unexpected out-of-pocket costs is when you are dealing with an injury or illness. In times like these, it helps to have someone on your side who knows a little something about hospital billing.

If you have a high deductible plan like Medicare Advantage, Plan F, or Plan G, you could be on the hook for many thousands of dollars in potential out-of-pocket costs. Our bill negotiation service uses MediGap Advisors’ considerable marketplace presence to lower your medical bills.

Simply submit your unpaid medical bill to our service. If the service is able to negotiate a reduced bill, 65% of the savings go right into your pocket. If no reduction is possible, you don’t pay anything to the service.

You Could Be Missing Out on Thousands in Savings

At MediGap Advisors, our whole mission is to simplify your medical expenses as much as possible. We believe the way to do this is by educating our members about the savings that are available. In some cases, this might mean switching plans. In others, it is simply taking advantage of the benefit programs that are already available.

In either case, your Personal Benefits Manager can help you learn more. You can also visit our Medicare Supplement Blog, where we like to share money-saving tips.
