aflac-cover

aflacAmerican Family Life Assurance Company of Columbus (GA), popularly known as Aflac, offers affordable and comprehensive Medicare supplement insurance plans that can protect your finances and give you some peace of mind.

Also called “Medigap” insurance, Aflac’s supplement plans cover the services and out-of-pocket costs that Original Medicare doesn’t.

Aflac’s Plans and Advantages to Consider

Medigap fills in Medicare’s gaps in coverage such as various deductibles, co-insurance and co-pays. You must be enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B to be eligible to supplement Original Medicare with a Medigap plan.

Aflac offers Medigap Plans A, C, D, F, G and N in 27 states. Plan F remains the most comprehensive policy, while Plan A provides very basic benefits. Click here to compare all Medigap plan benefits.

Medigap plan advantages:

  • Flexibility – Medigap plans are without network restrictions, which means that you can benefit from the services of any doctor who accepts Medicare.
  • No referrals needed to see a specialist.
  • Guaranteed renewable – Aflac cannot cancel your Medigap plan because of your health or age as long as you never fail to pay your premiums.
  • You may switch Medigap plans anytime you need to adjust your coverage.

Things to Keep in Mind Regarding Premiums

Your Aflac Medigap plan premium will vary based on your age, gender, health (if you’re outside your open enrollment or guaranteed issue period), zip code, tobacco use, and specific coverage needs. Since Aflac uses the attained-age method when calculating your premiums, your rates will change as your age increases. For rate changes to your policy, Aflac will send a written notice at least 30 days before they change your rates.

Aflac also offers a 7 percent household discount if both you and your spouse purchase Medigap coverage with them. This can help significantly lower your premiums.
