What Plans Does Ace Medicare Supplement Offer?
ACE Medicare Supplement offers five different Medigap plans: Plan G, high-deductible Plan G, Plan N, Plan A, and Plan F.
Here are some more details on each of these options:
Plan G
- The most comprehensive Medicare supplement plan available to new Medicare enrollees
- The most popular of all the Medicare supplement plans
- Covers all out-of-pocket expenses under Original Medicare (Parts A and B), except for your Part B deductible ($270 per year, as of 2025).
- Covers โphysicianโs excess chargesโ.
- Includes foreign travel benefits.
High Deductible Plan G
- Available in select states.
- Pays 100% of your out-of-pocket costs under Medicare Parts A and B.
- A higher deductible applies compared to the regular plan G. For 2025, the deductible for these plans is $2,870.

- If your doctor charges more than the Medicare-approved amount, you will be responsible for those fees over and above what Medicare pays.
- Covers all out-of-pocket expenses under Original Medicare (Parts A and B) (not including excess charges) except for your Part B deductible ($270 per year, as of 2025).
- Best suited for those in the eight states that do not allow excess charges.
Plan A
- Plan A has the lowest premiums of all ACE Medicare Supplement plans. But it also provides the least protection against unexpected out-of-pocket costs under Medicare Parts A and B.
- A โbasic,โ budget-friendly plan that still provides significant coverage.
- Covers your Part A and Part B coinsurance.
- Covers up to three pints of blood.
- Does not cover your Part A deductible ($1,670 per benefit period, as of 2025).

- Plan F covers 100% of all your out-of-pocket costs under Medicare Parts A and B – including the Part B deductible.

- Not available to anyone who became eligible for Medicare after January 1st, 2020.
All ACE Medicare supplement plans are guaranteed renewable. That is, you cannot be dropped from the plan as long as you pay your premiums.
How to Enroll in an ACE Medicare Supplement Plan
Enrolling in an ACE Medicare Supplement plan is easy!
Simply contact a MediGap Advisors Personal Benefits Manager.
You are eligible for open enrollment if you are age 64ยฝ or older (in most states) and within six months of your enrollment in Medicare Part B.
During open enrollment, you cannot be turned down for coverage. The insurance company must accept you when you pay your first premium.
Outside of open enrollment, you will have to go through medical underwriting to join an ACE Medicare supplement plan or any other Medicare supplement plan. That means you could be charged a higher premium based on your medical history, or even be declined altogether.
ACE Medicare Supplement Underwriting
ACE looks carefully at your height and weight when you apply outside of the open enrollment period.
If youโre outside of the companyโs height and weight guidelines, you will likely be turned down for coverage.
If you are overweight, itโs important to apply during your open enrollment period if possible.
Some carriers are more open to overweight applicants than others. If this is a concern, and you are outside your initial open enrollment period, let your Personal Benefits Manager know. We may be able to find you a plan that will be more likely to accept you.

Smoking/Tobacco Users
ACE charges a higher premium for tobacco users unless you enroll during your open enrollment period (in most states).
In some states, you will have to answer whether you are a tobacco user, even if youโre applying during open enrollment. These states are: Arizona, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
ACE Medicare Supplement Discounts
You may qualify for a household premium discount with ACE Medicare supplement plans.
Details vary depending on your state. But in most areas, the discount will apply if you are living with your spouse or with another individual age 50 or older, with whom youโve been residing for at least the last 12 consecutive months.
These discounts can be up to 7% off the base premium rate.
You may qualify for a discount if you pay by annual, semi-annual, or quarterly bank draft.

ACE Medicare Supplement FAQ
Q: What is the difference between Medicare supplement insurance and Medigap?
A: None. The two terms are interchangeable
Q: What is Medigap insurance?
A: Medigap is private health insurance designed to supplement Original Medicare (Parts A and B). It helps cover out-of-pocket costs such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles that Medicare doesn’t pay. These plans are standardized by the federal government and labeled Plan A, B, C, D, F, G, K, L, M, and N.
Q: How does Medigap differ from Medicare Advantage?
A: Medigap works with Original Medicare, helping to cover costs left unpaid by Medicare. In contrast, Medicare Advantage (Part C) replaces Original Medicare with a private insurance plan that often includes prescription drug coverage and additional benefits like dental or vision. With Medigap, you retain Original Medicare benefits, while Medicare Advantage operates through network-based managed care plans.
Q: How are Medigap premiums determined?
A: Medigap premiums are priced using three methods:
1. Community-rated: Everyone pays the same premium, regardless of age.
2. Issue-age-rated: Premiums are based on your age at the time of purchase and do not increase with age.
3. Attained-age-rated: Premiums start low but increase as you age.
ACE typically uses attained-age or issue-age pricing, depending on the state.
Q: Do Medicare supplement plans include prescription drugs?
A: Generally no. Medicare supplement insurance will only help pay for drugs administered in a hospital setting (under Part A), or in a doctorโs office (under Part B).
Q: Can I switch Medigap plans later?
A: Yes, but in most states, if you switch after your open enrollment period, you may face medical underwriting, and insurers could deny coverage or charge higher premiums based on your health history.
Q: Can I use my ACE Medicare supplement insurance policy with any doctor?
A: Yes, as long as the doctor accepts Medicare patients, your Medigap policy will cover your eligible costs. There are no network restrictions with Medigap.
Q: Can I use Medigap with Medicare Advantage?
A: No. You cannot use a Medigap policy with a Medicare Advantage plan. Medigap is only compatible with Original Medicare (Parts A and B).
Q: What happens if I move to another state?
A: Medigap plans are portable across states. If you move, you can keep your current policy as long as you continue to pay premiums. However, premiums may change based on your new stateโs pricing rules.
