How to Find a Medi-Share Provider

Finding a Medi-Share provider is a snap–once you know the process.

Here’s how Medi-Share 65+ members can easily find the right doctor, clinic, or hospital—and how to make the most of your Medi-Share membership.

Use the 900,000-strong Medi-Share Provider Network

Medi-Share members have access to a nationwide network of more than 900,000 providers.

These doctors, clinics, labs, and hospitals already work with Medi-Share, making the process smoother. Here’s how to search Med-Share’s network:

  1. Visit this page.
  2. Enter your ZIP code or state.
  3. Follow the prompts to narrow your search by specialty or provider name.

The search results will show in-network providers familiar with Medi-Share. These providers often offer pre-negotiated rates, which help reduce your out-of-pocket expenses.

Remember: Health Sharing Isn’t Insurance

Some medical providers may not be familiar with Medi-Share or health sharing in general.

That’s okay. Here’s how to handle it:

  • Present yourself to your Medi-Share provider as a cash-pay patient. Most providers understand this.
  • Ask for the cash price. Many providers offer discounts for self-pay patients, especially when you pay at the time of service.
  • Direct your provider to this URL, which explains Medi-Share 65+ and how reimbursement works. (If you’re a Medi-Share member under age 65, direct them here.)

Always be polite and clear. Let them know you’re responsible for your own medical bills, and that you’ll submit your expenses through Medi-Share for reimbursement.

Consider Telehealth First

Before booking an in-person visit, ask yourself: Can this be handled via telehealth?

If so, you may be able to save yourself hundreds of dollars: Medi-Share offers zero out-of-pocket cost for telehealth visits with board-certified doctors.

This is a huge savings over even a simple in-office consultation.

Telehealth works well for:

  • Colds and flu
  • Allergies
  • Rashes
  • Minor infections
  • Prescription refills

You can schedule telehealth visits directly through Medi-Share’s member portal.

Use Online Tools to Compare Cash Prices

If you need in-person or specialty care, use healthcare pricing tools to compare providers:

  • HealthcareBluebook.com: This tool shows fair cash prices for common procedures in your area.
  • Hospital websites: Under federal price transparency rules, hospitals must post pricing information for common services.

Use these tools to shop around and make sure you’re not overpaying—especially if you’re paying upfront and submitting bills to Medi-Share later.

Get Pre-Authorization For Non-Emergency Procedures

Some services require pre-authorization to be eligible for sharing.

Before scheduling any non-emergency procedure, contact Medi-Share’s Member Services desk at (800) 264-2562.

Examples:

  • MRIs and CT scans
  • Surgeries
  • Hospital admissions
  • Physical therapy

Failing to get pre-authorization may mean the expense won’t be eligible for sharing. That could mean you’ll have to pay out-of-pocket, potentially costing thousands of dollars.

So always check first, except for emergency situations where that may not be possible.
